In the county of San Diego, California there lies National City. Once it was called "El Rancho Del Rey," meaning the ranch of the king. The activities in the city was horse rearing which was carried out by Spanish soldiers. Later the name was changed to "Rancho De La Nacion." A third name was given to the city by President Andrew Johnson known as "The National Ranch." The name National City was later decided on by brothers Frank, Warren and Levi Kimball in 1868.        

The city has as its population 58,582 citizens living and working there, according to the 2010 census taken. National City has the distinction of being the largest city in the San Diego region.
