Junk Yards in Pinole, California

The city of Pinole in California is located in the County of Contra Costa. It is situated about thirty kilometers from San Francisco. Richmond and San Pablo are the nearest towns to the city and Hercules is to the northeast of it. The population is 18,390 residents as stated by a 2010 census. The name ‘pinole’ is the term used to describe a type of flour that comes from maize, grass, herbs and chia seed extracts. The city came to be called that name after Spanish settlers were fed this. The city became populated when the Southern Pacific Railroad came into existence and was officially given city status in 1903.

Economy

The government administration and the education system account for most of the employment opportunities within the city. Target and Albertson’s Grocery Store account for the other two top employers. Home-based business and personal businesses and services are the top two business types followed by professional services and retail firms. Of note is the fact that the auto parts industry is the sixth largest industry within the city. As a result, Pinole has seen an increase in Pinole auto parts sales. There has also been a dramatic increase in the presence of Pinole salvage yards and Pinole junk yards. These have become popular due to the fact that residents are now moving towards used cars instead of new cars. Pinole junk yards and Pinole salvage yards are then needed to provide used and recycled parts for these used vehicles.

Recreation/Entertainment

Pinole offers excellent opportunities for recreation and entertainment for both locals and tourists. There are several parks and these parks come alive at various times during the year with festivities such as Fourth of July Celebration.  There is also a Swim Center which is used by both children and adults.
