Van Nuys, California is an out of-the-way neighborhood in San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles County. Not many people know that it exists, and its population barely surpasses the 100,000 mark. Van Nuys, however, has quite a few attractionss that may surprise many. Named for Isaac Van Nuys, this town has a tradition of growing fast and then losing steam a little bit after. It was once home to an amusement park, a General Motors Corporation automobile plant ,and even an Army aerospace development plant. These are now a thing of the past in Van Nuys, but this small neighborhood has all the remnants and charm of its former glory. These remnants are not merely reminders of what Van Nuys once was, but aso act as indicators of how much better it will become.

The attraction to Van Nuys comes about not just because it is once hosted the Army research facility or that it once had a General Motors plant.
